Rant: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

The sixth movie is coming this July 17, 2009 and I, a fan of the Harry Potter series, am overly excited. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince may very well be the most action packed Harry Potter movie that has been released. I’ve watched most of the trailers that has been released on Youtube and it looks promising.

Quidditch is back, something that was not included from the last movie for reasons I do not know. Unfortunately, as with the previous Harry Potter movie with Quidditch on it, the accursed uniforms with numbers is back. Not only that, but they have armor paddings, much like American Football uniforms. The Costume Designer’s reason? Because the characters are now older, they are more physical in their play of the sport, hence the need for shoulder pads and such. What a moron. Quidditch is played by Hogwarts’ students from their first year until their last year in school. This means that when Harry was younger, he is also playing with sixth and seventh year students. Why the lack of armors back then?

Why can’t directors and their crew just follow what is in the books? Why is it that they never follow canon? To please the critics? How about pleasing the fans? That movie will sell not because of your artistry or deviation, it sells because of the fans of the book. Give the fans what they want.

House of Squared is written by that guy who knows more than the average Duterte supporter, which isn't saying much given that most of them are morons.
