GDAP Block Preview Week: Day 7

Hi everyone! Today we have our first guest writer. He is Reizen from the blog Just a disclaimer though. The opinion/s of the guest writer may or may not be the sentiments of the owner of this blog.

Hi, and welcome to another preview of yet another card from the GDAP block. But before anything, else, I’m reizencroft, or if you would prefer a shorter version, reizen. I’m but a humble Game Programmer, currently offering my services to Gameloft Philippines, but as you might have guessed, I previously had the privelage of working at with another game dev company here at the Philippines that I will now affectionately call CompanyX. The reason that I am not working at CompanyX, and thankful of it, was this card…….

Bad Management

A little bit of background on the Magic: The Gathering aspect of the card. The card is a take on the orignal MTG card, Mana Short. Its a Blue Instant card, 2 colorless and 1 blue mana to cast, and has the effect of  “Tap all lands target player controls and empty his or her mana pool.” and is rare card. Basic strategy for using this card is to deplete the oponent of its power to cast his spells.

But on this set, it is reminiscent of how bad CompanyX was on handling its resources. Let me cite an example. MonthXX 20XX AD. CompanyX was in a midst of its growth. Currently, they can’t keep up with the number of their legitimate software used in production. So instead of buying software, they hire more people, thinking they could always use pirated software. It will be a huge savings for them. But on the unfortunate afternoon of XXth day of that month, the NBI raided their place. The damage, majority of the computers were confiscated by the NBI because it contained pirated version of softwares they use for production of their games. Not only production was halted/impeded, their reputation was tainted. Severely limiting their resources. Which should all been avoided if not because of “Bad Management”.

And if you would ask, in the original MTG card sets, Mana Short is rare. But unfortunately at CompanyX, it is quite common.

That concludes my preview of Squared’s GDAP MTG card set.

About Squared
House of Squared is written by that guy who knows more than the average Duterte supporter, which isn't saying much given that most of them are morons.
