We Appeal for a Moratorium on Corruption, Politicking, and Grand-standing

House Speaker Prospero C. Nograles on Saturday asked critics and allies of the Arroyo administration to observe a moratorium on “political intrigues” in view of ongoing relief efforts for victims of tropical storm “Ondoy.”

Really? So because of a national emergency, you’re asking your critics to stop criticizing the administration’s move like not giving the relief goods because the media people has not arrive yet? Or the report that Customs personnel allegedly seizing relief goods from international organizations despite presidential directive? Or how Senator Dick Gordon allegedly made hundreds of Ondoy’s victim’s wait for his arrival before distributing the relief goods? Or how NDCC has obviously been caught unprepared? Or how the money spent on the Le Cirque dinner and other extravagant trips could have been used to help the victims of Ondoy?

No, my dear congressman, I don’t think the critics will stop doing their piece. Until the government and other politicians stop their abuse of our country’s money, there won’t be an end to this.
