Review: Game Studio Story

I rarely play Facebook games. My most played FB game before was Family Feud. I played it because of all the information that I learned from it. I tried Green Farm, a farm ville clone but the interest didn’t last for more than a week.

This all changed when I got invited by a friend to play Game Studio Story. I guess I am more interested in building a game development studio rather than building a farm.

What I love about the game is that there are a lot of inside humor like the energy drink that would give your employees extra stamina to do more work. Or the ability to visit your employees house while they are resting in order to force them to go back to work.

You start the game by hiring a maximum of 4 employees. Preferably, people who also plays the game. You can then start development. At first, you are limited to just the PC and one console but this will change after a few level up. Below are some of the abilities that will be unlocked through level ups:

  • Hiring more employees
  • Getting outsourcing contracts
  • Expanding the office area
  • Bribing Buying ads and other promotional mean
  • Unlocking development for other consoles

You also start with just four job title for your employees:

  • Story Writer
  • Designer
  • Programmer
  • Sound Creator

But you’ll be able to promote them to more awesome job titles such as producer, director, hardware engineer, and super hacker. You will need research points to level up the employees in order to unlock these positions.

If you find that the development time is too long, you can use Time Leaps to lessen development time by 30 minutes per use. You can get Time Leaps by visiting other offices and opening their safe (seriously) and also by brainstorming with them.

Hopefully, this post would get my friends interested and start playing the game. It’s sucks to excel in a game that none of your friends are playing.

About Squared
House of Squared is written by that guy who knows more than the average Duterte supporter, which isn't saying much given that most of them are morons.

It works on my IE, Firefox, Rockmelt, and Chrome.
